# $SHIP Token (Deprecated)

Every Ship deployed mints and distributes ERC20 $SHIP tokens that act as governance tokens for the Ship DAO members.

Sailors holding the $SHIP tokens will be able to perform specific actions, laid out in the [Sailors section](broken://pages/s5ZUDGVR7JuVe6mav053). 

Because the $SHIP tokens are ERC-20 tokens, they are tradeable on AMMs if anyone wants to provide liquidity to a pool.
